    Her death certificate indicates that she died of a gastric cancer and that she was buried at the Isla Verde Cemetery in San Juan, Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Victoria and her family lived next door to Roman Fontanez Ramos\u2019s family in Fajardo, when Bernardina was 7 or 8 years old. Bernardina would stay at \u201cTia\u201d Victoria\u2019s home when she would come back from school. She remembers those days as very happy ones.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
